The Arab Women Organization receives a delegation of European, American and Canadian youth leaders

 AWO received a delegation of youth leaders from various European countries, the United States of America and Canada on Monday, 1 July 2019, as part of the Fellowship Program of Egypt in 2019.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director-General of AWO, who stressed that women and girls in the Arab region, especially the areas of asylum and displaced persons, should have full rights and help them overcome the challenges they face. Moreover taking the necessary actions and practices to do so by Governments, the international community and stakeholders.

She referred to the most prominent activities and programs undertaken by AWO in the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 and the Women's Agenda for Peace and Security in the Arab Region.

Ms. Nora Osama, Director of the Planning and Programs Department of AWO, gave a comprehensive presentation of the most important activities and programs of AWO, especially the role of women in achieving peace and security, and the strategy adopted by AWO to support refugees and displaced persons. It was reviewed the results of AWO’s visit to the places of displacement and asylum in a number of Arab countries.
The meeting also addressed the role of the media in how to change stereotypes about women and girls and to provide positive roles on them and AWO’s efforts to empower women in all fields.
A documentary entitled "Dream of Return", produced by AWO, was presented on the suffering and problems of Syrian refugee women.
