The Arab Women Organization commends the decision of raising the representation of women in the Federal National Council in the UAE to 50%

 In a major step towards the political empowerment of women in the UAE, AWO commended the decision No. 1 of 2019  issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, , to raise the representation of women in the Federal National Council to 50%.

Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of AWO, was very pleased with this decision and the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE, which enhances the status of women and their political empowerment and makes the UAE parliamentary experience a role model in modern parliamentary experiences around the world, especially with regard to the process of women's political empowerment.
