The AWO mourns the Palestinian activist and poet Mai Al-Sayegh, who was an honorable model for the struggle and Giving of Palestinian women at various levels
she was born in the Gaza Strip in 1941 and had a prominent role in enriching the Palestinian and Arab literary stock. She also was the Leader of the Palestinian women's movement.
She held the position of Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Women, and participated in editing the Palestine magazine “Al-Thawra”, in addition her membership in the General Secretariat of the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists.
