7/28/2026

The activities of the Arab Women Organization Model have commenced, organized by the Arab Women Organization in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Cairo: July 27–29, 2026

In her opening remarks, H.E. Prof. Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of the Arab Women Organization, welcomed the young participants from across the Arab region, stressing that hosting them represents an important milestone in the Organization’s journey, particularly as this is the first time the Organization has specifically targeted this age group, reflecting its belief in the role of young people in shaping the future and driving change.

She called on Arab young people to become a driving force for positive change and leaders of the future, emphasizing the importance of combining pride in Arab identity with openness to global developments in ways that contribute to building more advanced and cohesive societies.

The Director General affirmed that Egypt has always been, and will continue to be, a meeting place for its Arab brothers and sisters, noting that the Arab Women Organization serves as one of the platforms for joint Arab action aimed at strengthening cooperation and communication among people across Arab countries.

She encouraged participants to return to their communities equipped with new ideas and a positive spirit, becoming ambassadors for change in their respective surroundings. She underscored the importance of community engagement, collective action, and rejecting passivity.

She also urged young people to keep pace with the technological revolution and make effective use of artificial intelligence applications, while preserving Arab and human values and identity. She emphasized that technological advancement is not incompatible with upholding the essence of values and ethics.

The Director General warned against the risks of intellectual intolerance and isolation, calling for respect for differing opinions, acceptance of diversity, and the promotion of a culture of dialogue as a foundation for progress and for building more just and cohesive societies.

The Director General expressed her confidence in the ability of Arab young people to lead a new phase of joint Arab action grounded in freedom, responsibility, and creativity. She wished the participants every success in the Model’s activities, expressing hope that this experience would serve as a launching point toward a brighter Arab future—particularly as the Organization seeks to empower a conscious, influential, and responsible generation of Arab young people.

Statement by Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women in Egypt and Chairperson of the Executive Council of the Arab Women Organization

It is my pleasure to be with you today at the closing ceremony of the Arab Women Organization Model. This Model goes beyond being merely a training activity; it embodies an Arab vision that recognizes investment in young people as the most valuable and sustainable investment. Preparing promising future leaders begins by giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience, engage in dialogue and negotiation, and participate in decision-making within a framework that reflects the spirit of joint Arab action.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Arab Women Organization, which has established itself as one of the successful institutions of joint Arab action. Over the years, the Organization has contributed to advancing the issues of Arab women, producing knowledge, shaping policies, and strengthening cooperation among Arab countries in support of development and stability across our region.

My sincere thanks go to Her Excellency the Director General and the General Secretariat for their outstanding organization and dedicated efforts.

Distinguished guests,

We have followed with great interest the contributions of the participants throughout the days of the Model. What we witnessed was not merely the performance of simulated roles; it was a genuine exercise in institutional practice, respect for differing views, dialogue management, and consensus-building—values that underpin joint Arab action and have become more important than ever.

I have witnessed in you a clear awareness of the issues facing Arab women and an understanding of the challenges confronting our societies. More importantly, I have seen a firm belief that solutions cannot be achieved through slogans, but through knowledge, sound thinking, action, and a sense of responsibility

My sons and daughters,

Under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Arab Republic of Egypt has presented a leading national model for women’s empowerment, based on a firm belief that women are essential partners in building the state and achieving sustainable development. This vision has been translated into ambitious policies, legislation, and strategies, foremost among them the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, the first strategy of its kind in the region. Today, the Egyptian experience is recognized at both the regional and international levels.

My sons and daughters,

Leadership is neither a title nor a position; it is a responsibility and a mission. It begins when a person possesses knowledge, respects differences, believes in dialogue, and places the public interest above all else.

I urge you to make this experience the beginning of a journey of service and public engagement; to keep the concerns of your countries present in both your minds and hearts; and to believe that the future of our Arab nation will be shaped by young people who possess awareness, competence, and determination.

In conclusion,

I congratulate all the participants on the excellence, commitment, and sense of responsibility they have demonstrated.

In Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, we will remain committed to the belief that investing in people, empowering women, and preparing young people are fundamental pillars for building the future, and that joint Arab action will remain our path toward greater development, stability, and prosperity for our peoples.

I am confident that among you today are those who will become tomorrow’s leaders, diplomats, parliamentarians, and public officials, contributing to shaping the future of their countries and the Arab nation.

**Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.”
