On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in the Field of Science, which falls on February 11 of each year, Professor Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of AWO, praised the scientific contributions of Arab women, which have varied greatly throughout modern history and included advanced fields such as nuclear physics, nanotechnology, electronic applications, and others .

She added that enhancing the inclusion of women and girls in the field of science is a necessary development and added value to the science on the one hand, and the human renaissance on the other.

She pointed out that despite the superiority shown by girls in the fields of science within schools, the percentage of women and girls scientists and researchers remains limited globally due to factors related to social stereotyping, specifically, the limited opportunities that society provides for girls and women to continue in these areas that require a lot of sabbatical As well as financial support.

She emphasized that achieving full gender equality includes working to remove barriers - especially cultural and societal - that discourage women from entering the scientific field as well as continuing it. Equality in this area is a major goal of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
