the Arab Women Organization (AWO) will hold a panel discussion on September 15th, entitled (Children’s Literature and Changing the Stereotypes of Women and Girls in Arab Culture.). the panel discussion came as a component in a main program adopted by AWO on (Education for the Future), which aims to dismantle negative stereotypes about women and combat gender discrimination in Arab societies from early childhood. 
 
The panel will witness the honoring of the late writer Fadela Mahri (1970-2021), known as Nada Mahri, who a member of the team of the Arab Women Organization for about 15 years, she was also a writer specialized in children's literature. 
 
Prof. Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director-General of AWO, stated that the organization would like to dedicate a part of the panel to celebrate the writings of Mrs. Nada Mahri in the field children’s literature, which intersects with a genuine orientation of the organization embodied in the program (Education for the Future), so that the panel should start from talking about Mrs. Mahri and her writings, then moving to a broader discussion on children's and youth literature in the Arab region and building a positive culture on women.
 
H.E. Salima Soakri, former Minister of elite sports in Algeria, will participate in the panel to present a testimony about Mrs. Mahri, who had a friendship relationship with, as well as the deceased’s family and intellectuals who were familiar with her writings. In addition to a group of Arab writers in the field of children's literature. 
 
Dr. Yasmine Mutawa, a lecturer at the American University in Cairo and researcher in children's literature should present the working papers along with Ms. Amira Abul-Magd, Director of Publication at Dar Al-Shorouk, Mr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, President of the Egyptian Translators and Linguists Association, and Dr. Hend Mustafa, Head of the Studies, Publication and Media Unit at the Organization Arab women.
 
The panel discussion will be held at the organization's headquarters and will be broadcast directly through organization’s social media sites.
