Arab women organization participates in the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 63rd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women

On 2 February, Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of AWO, addressed a statement to members of the Executive Council of the AWO that the Arab Summit held recently in Beirut approved the organization's program to support marginalized women.
In this context, the AWO is preparing for field work in the form of an upcoming visit to the State of Yemen, which is included in the programs of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
The meeting, chaired by Algeria, was attended by the Chairperson of the current session of the Women's Commission, the ministers concerned with women's issues in the Arab States, representatives of the national machineries on women's affairs, and representatives of regional and international organizations.
The meeting provides a platform for information exchange and discussions on the subject of the CSW 63, social protection systems and access to public services and infrastructure, to achieve gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls.
It is worth noting that this meeting is organized by General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Family, Women and Children Department at LAS, and the Arab States Regional Office of UN Women, in cooperation with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
