AWO holds an expanded press conference

AWO will hold an important press conference on Tuesday, 6 August 2019, at its headquarters in Cairo to announce the details of its visit to the Republic of Yemen, to provide assistances to Yemeni women and children to support them and help them overcome the current crisis in light of the difficult situations they are going through. The humanitarian situation has deteriorated because of the prolonged war and its negative impact is affecting women and children directly, being more than half of the population and the weakest link in Yemeni society and most affected by this war, and having to leave their homes to other places of displacement in their country or to move to other countries.
This activity is part of AWO’s project to support Arab women and girls displaced from war and armed conflict zones.
The press conference will be attended by Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director-General of AWO and a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Cairo.
