The Arab Women Organization participates in launching "The Regional Campaign on Promoting Women’s Participation in Elections"

Professor/ Fadia Kiwan, the Director General of the Arab Women Organization (AWO), and Ms. Nora Osama, Head of Planning and programs Unit at AWO, are participating in launching the "Regional Campaign on Promoting Women’s Participation in Elections" in Amman, Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The campaign is organized by the Arab Network for Women in Elections.
The AWO delegation will also participate in the workshop discussing the adoption of a supportive strategy for women’s participation in elections. The workshop will be held on the following day of launching the campaign.


The campaign aims to enhance women’s participation in elections in the Arab region, highlight the importance of women participation in the electoral process, and overcoming the obstacles and challenges facing women in this field.


This campaign will be implemented at regional and national levels throughout  the period from October 2021 to November 2022 , in cooperation with the Independent Electoral Commission in Jordan, and its members from regional organizations: the Arab Women Organization, the Women Parliamentarians Network for Equality “Pioneers”, and the Center for Arab Women Media, in cooperation with partners from the United Nations Program for the Middle East and North Africa, the International Foundation for Democracy and Elections, and UN Women.
