Commenting on the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria and caused huge human losses, Professor Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of the AWO, declared:
The Humanitarian disasters that affected large areas in Turkey and Syria as a result of the devastating earthquake, Emphasizes the importance of promoting a culture of prevention, and Strictness in the development and enforcement of building and construction laws in accordance with the engineering requirements of the state against earthquakes.
Her Excellency drew attention to the fact that the AWO will redouble its efforts in the field of awareness to prevent the dangers of natural disasters and the means of confronting their occurrence with special behaviors to ensure people's safety and mitigate human losses."
Her Excellency added “May God have mercy on the victims and help the afflicted and the wounded”.
She emphasized, " Humanitarian Aid and Prevention is the responsibility of all of us."
