Seminar on "Arab Women and Euro Mediterranean Women Partnership & Development in a Changing world" ,Malta February 20-21,2007

The Seminar was held in Malta (20-21 February 2007) and organized by the Arab Women Organization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Family, Children and the Elderly Affairs of Tunisia, the Ministry of Family and Social Solidarity of the Republic of Malta, and the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) and the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR), and the Council of Europe.

 
Topics of the Seminar :
The work of the Symposium focused on three topics:
  • Women and the Challenges of Development and Globalization: Challenges to Empowerment .
  • Women and Arab- European Partnership: Reality and Prospects.
  • Dialogue of Cultures and Development Solidarity: the Role of Arab and Euro-Mediterranean Women in a Changing World.
The symposium concluded with a roundtable session crystallizing the formula for partnership and solidarity among women in the Arab and the Euro-Mediterranean regions.
Objectives of the Seminar :
  • To change the stereotypical image of Arab women.
  • To highlight the growing stature of women in the development process.
